KATSEYE has six members, and each one brings something different to the group. Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae come from different backgrounds, but they share the same stage and the same goal: becoming a global pop group.

What Is KATSEYE?
KATSEYE is a global girl group created through a partnership between HYBE and Geffen Records. The group was formed through The Debut: Dream Academy, a global audition and training project that followed a K-pop-style development system.
The project started with more than 120,000 submissions from around the world. Twenty contestants entered the main competition, and after a series of singing and dancing missions, six members were chosen. Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae became the official members of KATSEYE in November 2023.
The group released its first single, “Debut,” in June 2024. Its first EP, SIS (Soft Is Strong), followed in August 2024. The title also represents an important idea behind the group: strength does not always have to look hard or aggressive.
What Does the Name KATSEYE Mean?
The name KATSEYE comes from the cat’s-eye gemstone. The official story of the group explains that a cat’s eye can appear to show different colors depending on the direction from which it is viewed.
That idea fits the group well. The six members have different personalities, cultures, talents, and backgrounds, but they come together as one group. In simple terms, KATSEYE represents different sides coming together and shining as one.

Daniela: The Performer
Daniela has a strong performance background. She started dancing very young and grew up around dance, with her mother also being a dancer and teacher. Before KATSEYE, Daniela had already appeared in television dance competitions and worked on developing her singing skills.

Lara: The Confident Creative
Lara is a first-generation Indian American from the United States. She developed an interest in music and entertainment at a young age and has spoken about the importance of representation. Her story is also connected to her desire to encourage other young Indian girls to believe that they can chase big dreams.

Manon: The Dreamer
Manon comes from Switzerland and has a multicultural family background. She speaks English and Swiss German and began writing songs as a teenager. Her interest in songwriting gives her a more reflective and artistic side.

Megan: The Cool All-Rounder
Megan is from Honolulu and started dancing at a young age. She has also explored modeling, acting, and music. Her background shows a willingness to try different creative areas instead of sticking to only one.

Sophia: The Heart
