Jen Richards is an American transgender who is best known as a writer, actress, producer and activist. She appeared as a supporting cast member of Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show I Am Cait, in 2015. It was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2016 for her participation in the web series Her Story, which she co-starred in, co-directed, co-wrote and co-produced. Furthermore, Richards was also involved in the production of the series More Than T, as well as writing the series Trans 102.
As a member of the cast of the popular television series Nashville, Richards became the first openly transgender person to appear on a CMT show, portraying the first transgender character ever seen on the network. She also appeared in the film Easy Living, released in 2017.
Earlier this year, Richards authored and appeared in a video open letter, sponsored by ScreenCrush and GLAAD, asking for better representation of trans actors in film and television that was presented by both organizations. Some of her popular TV shows are below,

The network announced earlier this year that HBO would be picking up Tom Perrotta’s Mrs. Fletcher, a half-hour comedy based on Perrotta’s novel of the same name which was published in 2017; Richards is cast as Margo Fairchild, a transgender community college writing teacher who will appear regularly on the show. It has been reported that Richards is a bisexual. Multiple sources have confirmed that Richards identifies as bisexual, and he has been seen in public with both male and female partners.
She announced at the end of August 2020 that she was engaged to Rebekah Cheyne, a professor from Arizona State University. Richards has openly discussed her sexuality and relationships with the media, and has been very vocal in advocating for LGBTQ rights.
