Rex Heuermann is a serial killer who came into limelight after he seen was taken into custody on 13 July 2023 accused of killing three woman and is suspected in the murder of a fourth. He was arrested and accused with the murders of Megan Waterman, Melissa Barthelemy, and Amber Lynn Costello on three charges of first degree murder and three counts of second degree murder.

Rex Heuermann is an American architect who had lived most of his life in Nassau County and worked in Manhattan. Before his arrest, investigators had sifted through clues as simple as a monogrammed belt wrapped around one of the victims and as sophisticated as the electronic signals of disposable mobile phones.
Investigators have been looking at evidence such as the type of weapons used, the number of victims, the geographical locations of the killings and any patterns in the victims’ backgrounds in order to try and determine if the killings were committed by one person or multiple people. But for more than a decade some cases went unsolved.

Rex Heuermann is married twice. His first wife name was Elizabeth Ryan. They married in 1990. Elizabeth was working at New Jersey office supply company at the time of her marriage. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School. She’d lived in the same home for at least 15 years.
His second wife name is, Asa Ellerup. He has a daughter and a son. Newsday asked her about her husband’s situation, and she replied, “Please leave me alone. I will not be saying anything.”
