Mark Tarlov (1952 – July 31, 2021) was an American film producer and director, attorney, speechwriter, and winemaker.
Born in New York City, Tarlov was the son of film producer Morton Tarlov and his first wife, actress Joan McCracken. He had two sisters, actress Phoebe Cates and writer Dana Tarlov. After graduating from Brown University, he worked as a speechwriter for then-New York Governor Hugh Carey. In 1983, he produced and directed the feature film “WarGames”.
In the late 1980s, Tarlov moved to Los Angeles, where he founded the production company Cinema 5 Films. His credits there include the films “The American President”, “Pleasantville”, and “The Village”. In 2004, he co-founded the winery Lincourt Vineyards with his second wife, actress Stacey Dash.
