Grant Gustin is an American actor and singer. He is perhaps best recognized for his work on the CW series The Flash as part of the Arrowverse television universe, and as Sebastian Smythe on Fox’s Glee.
Thomas Grant Gustin was born on January 14, 1990, in Norfolk, Virginia. He is the son of Tina Haney, a pediatric nurse, and Thomas Gustin, a college professor. In high school, he attended the Governor’s School for the Arts program at Norfolk State University for musical theater.

While still in high school, Gustin made his film debut in Rain (2004), a student film by director/producer Neil Grochmal during his studies at Regent University. Gustin plays a young mute who dreams of a guy’s horrible loss of his wife as he is robbed, then later encounters the man, stirring memories that aid the man in discovering who murdered his wife. Grochmal praised Gustin’s raw talent and believed that he would be a future star.
After his graduation, he worked as an understudy in the Broadway Revival Tour of West Side Story before leaving to star as Baby John in the national tour of the same work. He began performances on September 30, 2010, and ended them on September 23, 2011.
