Snow Lopes is the daughter of Lisa Lopes, an American rapper and singer. She was a member of the R&B girl group TLC, alongside Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. She was from a Christian the family of low income. It is unknown who Snow’s biological mother is. Lisa Lopes was often vocal about her personal life and difficult past. She came from an abusive, alcoholic background and struggled with alcoholism herself. These issues became headline news in 1994.

In 1994, Lisa Lopes was arrested for setting fire to Andre Rison’s sneakers in a bathtub, which ultimately spread to the mansion they shared and destroyed it. She claimed that Rison had beaten her after a night out, and she set fire to his shoes to get back at him but that burning down the house was an accident.
Lopes subsequently alleged that the night of the fire, she vented her anger about the relationship and the lack of freedom she had inside it on Rison, who she said had been emotionally and physically abusive.

Snow Lopes’ grandmother, LaWanda, a seamstress, and grandfather, Ronald Lopes Sr., a US Army staff sergeant. She has a uncle named, Ronald Jr., and an aunt named, Rain (nicknamed Reigndrop).
Her grandfather was “very strict, very domineering” and that he treated the family like they were in “boot camp”. He was also a “talented musician” who played the harmonica, clarinet, piano, and saxophone.
Lopes’ grandparents separated when Snow Lopes’s mother, Lisa was still in school, and her paternal grandmother raised her during the later years of her childhood. As early as age five, she was composing melodies on a toy piano. At age 10, Lopes and her two younger brothers and sister created a musical trio called The Lopes Kids and began performing gospel music at community events and churches. She graduated from Philadelphia’s Girls High School.
