Matthew Adesuyan is Shanina Shaik’s boyfriend and future husband. The couple have been together for over two years and got engaged in September 2018. Adesuyan is a British-born Nigerian entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He is the founder and CEO of Maison Métissage, a luxury African lifestyle brand. Adesuyan has also invested in several tech startups and is a member of the board of directors for the African Leadership Academy.
Shaik and Adesuyan met in 2016 while she was visiting Nigeria on business. The couple hit it off immediately and began dating shortly after. “I had a lot of change in my body and around me,” Shaik said. “It’s been a really nice, healthy, and amazing experience since I’ve been pregnant.” “I’ve been quite fortunate, so I’m just glad to be able to share the news,” she says.
Shaik added that she is expecting a “Fall baby” and is currently in her “second trimester,” which, for her, means “It’s getting harder to hide [my baby bump].”
The model said she learned whether their unborn child will be a boy or girl given that she is someone who likes to “plan and organize things.” She explained: “I just wanted to find out the sex and plan for the nursery and buy the nice products that I can online … and get everything organized for the baby.”
In preparation for the arrival of her baby later this year, Shaik said she has “been trying to obtain advice from all ends, and especially from my girlfriends who’ve had babies before.”
