Extraordinary You is based on the webtoon July Found by Chance which was first published in January 2018 on Daum Webtoon. The series aired on MBC TV’s Wednesday-Thursday 21:00 KST time slot from October 2 to November 21, 2019. The series follows high school girl Eun Dan-oh (Kim Hye-yoon) who is a student at a prestigious academy. One day, by chance, she discovers that the world she lives in is a fantasy world of comics.

Dan Oh, a high school girl who is the only child from a wealthy family, has congenital heart disease. One day, she wonders why her memory keeps disappearing. She finally realizes that she is a character in the cartoon and decides to find her real life and love. Meanwhile, a character that doesn’t even have its name, Seuli High School’s Student Number 13, lives like a background of the other characters, but his life slowly changes after meeting Dan Oh. They begin their mysterious adventure to find out the secret of the romance cartoon world, and they try to get their independent lives back.
Extraordinary You Plot Explored
Eun Dan-O (Kim Hye-Yoon) is an outstanding student at an elite high school. Her family is rich however Eun Dan-O is suffering from a heart disease. Her fiancé Baek Kyung (Lee Jae-Wook) is a student at the same high school. She is very fond of him but he doesn’t enjoy her very much. In a flash, Eun Dan-O has short-term memory loss. She can know what’s going to take place within the next few years. She becomes confused due to her symptoms. In the next moment, Jinmiche, from the school cafeteria, informs Eun Dan-O that she’s an actor from the book “Secret” as is everyone else. Eun Dan-O is shocked to discover that her character isn’t the main character it’s an extra, and she doesn’t have a lot of time to live a full life. Eun Dan-O is astonished however, she decides that she would like to find her true first love and not one written by the comic author. One day, she slips down the stairs of her school. Her back feels like it’s touching the back of a student, in a group consisting of students who are male. Her heart starts to beat. Eun Dan-O is determined to locate the male student who caused her heart beat. She finally finds the student (Ro Woon) and discovers that he’s her classmate. He’s a character who has no name. They are close, and Eun Dan-O calls the character “Ha-Roo.”
