Vivi Janis’ father name is, Earl Alexander Jamison, born August 3, 1889, in Nebraska, and died June 17, 1962, in California. Her mother name was Helen Matilda Jamison née Liljgren. They settled in California after touring Midwest theaters in the 1920s and 1930s. Their only child was Vivi.
She was the second wife of actor and comedian Bob Cummings, a native of Nebraska. They wed from 1935 to 1943. The Ziegfeld Follies on Broadway in 1934 introduced the couple. She portrayed Daisy Duck on Gunsmoke radio and TV.
Upon divorcing Cummings, Janiss married actor John Larch, who played the police chief in the first Dirty Harry picture in 1971. Larch was her husband till her death. The couple starred in four TV shows, including the series premiere of “No Fat Cops” on ABC’s The New Breed, starring Leslie Nielsen, on October 3, 1961.

She played the historical Mary Todd Lincoln in “How Chance Made Lincoln President” in series TV Reader’s Digest, in 1955. She was cast the role of Ella Westover in a second State Trooper episode, “Excitement at Milltown”, in 1959. Her last roles were in the 1978 CBS television film First, You Cry.
