Roland von Kurnatowski Sr. was the dad of Theo Von an American stand-up comedian, podcaster, actor, and former reality television personality. Roland was originally from Bluefields, Nicaragua.

Roland von Kurnatowski Sr. was 67 when Theo Von was born. Von rounds the age to 70 years for his comedic material. He was married with Gina Capitani. Couple had three children. His son, Theo Von started a professional career in entertainment at age nineteen when he starred in MTV’s Road Rules: Maximum Velocity Tour in 2000.

His another son Roland von Kurnatowski Jr. who was born in 1951. He was the owner of Tipitina’s and founder of the Tipitina’s Foundation and died at the age of 68 in 2019 after an accidental shooting. Gina and Roland’s daughter Joan, who was born in 1941 and is an artist.

Roland was proud of his son’s career

Roland von Kurnatowski Sr.’s son, Theo Von has now lived in Nashville, Tennessee since September 2020, after purchasing the home of former Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason.

He competed on season 4 of Last Comic Standing where he won the online competition, in 2006. He was a member of the Comedy Central sketch/competition show Reality Bites Back, in mid-2008.

He hosts a podcast, This Past Weekend, and was a former host of the podcast King and The Sting (and Wing), in 2023. Von also has an apartment in Los Angeles, California.
