Maria Lee was married with Mallorca Lee who founded the techno group Ultra Sonic in Ayrshire in 1991, and it went on to build a loyal following on the rave scene. He has died just weeks after revealing his cancer battle, on Sunday afternoon February 5, 2024. His bandmate DJ KID took to social media on to share the sad news. He wrote,
“It is with tremendous sadness that I announce the sad passing on Sunday afternoon of legendary Scottish DJ, producer and long-time friend Mallorca Lee, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer just four weeks ago. He was 51.
During this incredibly upsetting time, my deepest sympathy goes out to Maria, Mallorca’s wife his children Angel and Oceano and his extended family and friends. You will be deeply missed, brother, but your energy and legacy will live on.”
Mallorca Lee shared a poignant last photo of himself with his wife and kids before he passed away. Sadly, he had revealed just a month ago that he was battling terminal cancer. In 2020, his most recent single, ‘Hardcore Will Never Die’ was released.
