The latest hit drama TV series from Apple TV is the incredible true story of Jimmy Keene (Taron Egerton) and serial killer Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser), Black Bird. Since Mindhunter’s release, the series has received much critical acclaim for its cast, cinematography, and faithful adaptation of James Keene’s memoir. Many publications have praised the show as a fitting farewell to Goodfellas star Ray Liotta, who gave one of his last performances in the series. Egerton gives a brilliant performance as James (Jimmy) Keene, the charming but arrogant son of a long-serving police officer (Liotta). Despite his seeming unflappability, Egerton portrays much vulnerability and pain underneath. Who Is Larry Hall: Wiki, Crimes, Now, Charges & more.

Larry Hall’s Crimes

According to many of his fans, the real Larry Hall was sent to USMFCP Springfield for abducting a 15-year-old girl who went missing in 1993, Jessica Roach. Hauser played the true Larry Hall, who was born in Wabash, Indiana, with a spectacular but frightening eeriness. Despite being identical twins, Larry was the one of the two with a lower IQ and a speech impediment who was frequently picked on by his classmates at school.

When examining Hall’s dark history, it is necessary to note that he was a teenager when committing several crimes in his hometown of Wabash. These include arson, vandalism, and the abduction of two young girls in Michigan and Indiana. He only became a suspect to local police when Jessica Roach’s remains were found in 1993.

As the series depicts, and as Keene’s own memoir backs up, Hall became fascinated with Civil War and Revolutionary War reenactments in his later years. This led him to grow out his signature “burnsides,” or sideburns, to help him look more authentic as a general. This also added to his overall unnerving appearance. Hall is suspected of murdering several young women in the Midwest from late ’80s to early ’90s, a time when he frequently participated in historical reenactments.

In later years, Hall confessed to other murders besides Keene’s, including Tricia Reitler’s. But then he recanted these confessions too, which is unsurprising. The FBI estimates that the true number of people Hall killed could be up to 40 young women.

Today, Larry Hall, who is believed to be aserial killer, remains in prison located in North Caroline. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment with no possibility of parole.
