Karim Al Fayed is the half-brother of Dodi Fayed was an Egyptian film producer and the son of billionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed. Karim’s father was also the former owner of Fulham Football Club and the Hôtel Ritz Paris and his mother, Heini Wathén was a Finnish socialite and former model. Karim’s uncles, Ali and Salah have been his business colleagues.

In 1985, Mohamed Al-Fayed married Heini Wathén, with whom he had four children: daughters Jasmine (born 1980) and Camilla (born 1985), and sons Karim (born 1983) and Omar (born 1987).

Karim Al-Fayed died on August 30, 2023, in London, at the age of 94. On September 1, his death was announced as the result of old age. He was buried that day at Barrow Green Court alongside his son Dodi, following a burial service at London Central Mosque during Friday prayers.
