In game six of the Raptors series, Embiid was tackled by Pascal Siakim and suffered an injury to his eye. When defending the basket, Siakim elbowed Embiid in the face, resulting in a broken orbital bone and concussion.
In games one and two vs Miami in the Eastern semi-finals, Embiid missed time because of an orbital fracture and concussion. To protect his eye from additional harm, Joel Embiid sported a mask during his return to the court in game three.

Is He Playing Vs The Heat?
Although coach Doc Rivers reported that Joel Embiid would wear his protective mask, it will be a limited appearance on the court. Because Embiid has not been able to train fully due to lack of conditioning, it would be a brief period on the floor, according to Rivers.
