Caleb Downs is an American football defensive back player who became the first known freshman to lead the team in tackles and earned first-team All-SEC honors and was the SEC’s Newcomer of the Year. He play for the for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He’ll be one of the most talented and coveted players to enter the transfer portal this season. He was named Defensive Football Player of the Year by USA Today, in July 2023.

His uncle name is, Dré Bly who played for the North Carolina Tar Heels and 11 years in the NFL. His brother Josh also played with the Tar Heels, and is now with the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL.

On July 27, 2022, Caleb Downs made an agreement to Alabama. He attended Hoschton, Georgia’s Mill Creek High School. In his final year of high school, Downs was honoured as the team’s All-American Bowl MVP.

He was thought of as the best safety prospect in the country and one of the top players in the 2023 college football recruiting class. On a national level, he was rated ninth by Rivals.com, eleventh by ESPN and eighth by 247Sports.
