Caleb Downs is an American football defensive back player who became the first known freshman to lead the team in tackles and earned first-team All-SEC honors and was the SEC’s Newcomer of the Year. He play for the for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He’ll be one of the most talented and coveted players to enter the transfer portal this season. He was named Defensive Football Player of the Year by USA Today, in July 2023.

Prior to his college career, he attended Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Georgia. Caleb also received recognition in high school being named the All-American Bowl Player of the Year and USA Today Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.

On July 27, 2022, Caleb Downs made an agreement to Alabama. He attended Hoschton, Georgia’s Mill Creek High School. In his final year of high school, Downs was honoured as the team’s All-American Bowl MVP.
He was thought of as the best safety prospect in the country and one of the top players in the 2023 college football recruiting class. On a national level, he was rated ninth by Rivals.com, eleventh by ESPN and eighth by 247Sports.
