Davey Johnson is the father of late Adam Johnson an American professional ice hockey forward who died in October 2023 after an on-ice collision resulted in a cut to his neck from a skate. He was seen on video trying to skate to the bench while holding his neck after he had fallen to the ice during the play and soon blood covered the ice. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Davey has been broken by the loss of his son and has since become an ally for increased safety measures in ice hockey. Adam’s death has sent shockwaves through many communities, from our local residents here in Sheffield to ice hockey fans across the world.
