The new trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine provided viewers with the finest possible glimpse of Cassandra Nova, who plays the antagonist in the film.
There is a great deal of evil lurking in the shadows, despite the fact that it seems as though Logan and Deadpool will begin their adventure in a belligerent manner.
Nova’s comic image was depicted in the first teaser for Deadpool 3, which revealed a glimpse of her with long pointed ears and a bald head. However, more recent video has shown her in her complete appearance and demonstrating her skills.
The latest trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine features Cassandra Nova
It is clear that Emma Corrin’s portrayal of Cassandra Nova is prominently featured in the most recent official trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine.
This included a first sight at her face, a second look at the bald head that was instantly recognized, and the addition of a long jacket with a popped collar (which was reminiscent of her appearance in Marvel Comics). The objectives of Cassandra Nova are still unknown, despite the fact that she may be based within The Void (as was seen in Loki).
When she appears to take control of Wolverine, the scene that stands out the most in relation to the forthcoming antagonist is what happens. According to the comics, she possesses both mind control and telekinetic skills, which explains how she is able to exert control over Logan’s limbs.
There is nothing that hurts more than a wound that you have inflicted on yourself, and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is about to experience the pain of a self-inflicted wound once more when Cassandra takes control.
Clarification of Cassandra Nova’s Relationships with the X-Men
In Marvel Comics, Cassandra Nova, who was revealed to be a mummudrai creature, appeared as the twin sister of Charles Xavier, the leader of the X-Men, and she attempted to kill him when he was still in the womb.
Charles’s response was to launch a psychic blast, which ultimately led to her body being stillborn rather than being born. On the other hand, she eventually regenerated by copying Charles’ DNA, which resulted in her developing powerful psychic skills that were comparable to those of her brother, such as telepathy and telekinesis.
It is the “E is for Extinction” plotline that serves as the source of inspiration for Episode 5 of the X-Men ’97 series. In this storyline, Cassandra Nova is the antagonist who is responsible for the attack on Genosha.
On the other hand, it seems that the show will not adhere to the original storyline, as Mr. Sinister is going to take the position of Cassandra Nova as the principal antagonist in this version.
This paves the way for Cassandra to have a new story within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which may originate from the universe in which this particular version of Wolverine is based.
At one point in the comics, Cassandra’s primary purpose is to undermine Jean Grey’s efforts in building a mutant “nation.” She intends to accomplish this by use her psychic abilities to corrupt governments through the use of microscopic sentinel technology that is implanted in the brains of humans.
Her strong hate of mutants stems from her near-death experience at the hands of her brother, Charles, and may be related to her motivations in Deadpool and Wolverine.
This is the throughline that may tie to her motivating factors. It is difficult to conceive of a version of Professor X that will not at least make a passing mention in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe films, as the antagonist will hopefully have a multifaceted explanation for why they are bad. On July 26, Deadpool and Wolverine will be released in theaters.
