His father is John Fury, who fought as a heavyweight in the 1980s and 1990s. His uncles include former heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury and heavyweight contenders Peter Fury and Hughie Fury. Tommy’s cousin, Nathan Gorman, is also a professional boxer.
Tommy Fury made his professional debut on 6 December 2018 with a first-round knockout of journeyman Jevgenijs Andrejevs at the Copper Box Arena in London. In his fourth professional bout, Fury faced former world title challenger Domenico Valentino and won via unanimous decision after ten rounds on 20 April 2019 at the Manchester Arena. This was his first scheduled ten-round bout.
- On 15 June 2019, Fury fought former world title challenger Ali Akhmedov and won by unanimous decision (UD) after twelve rounds to capture the vacant WBO interim light-heavyweight title at the O2 Arena in London.
