Myra Molloy is a Thai-American singer, songwriter, and actress. Molloy won Thailand’s Got Talent’s first season at the age of 13 with her renditions of a blend of cross-over classical songs and Broadway numbers. In 2014, at the age of 16, she advanced to Top 6 on ABC’s Rising Star USA. 2018 – 2019 saw Molloy appear as ‘Kim’ in the US tour of Miss Saigon for Miramax. He’s All That (2014), the gender reversing reboot of She’s All That, featured Molloy in the role of ‘Quinn.’
Molloy was born in Bangkok to a Thai mother and an American father. Her younger sister is Nina. Molloy has made frequent trips to New York City since she was a youngster, where she fell in love with Broadway. She was captivated by The Phantom of the Opera, having stood through the entire performance with her $26 standing-room ticket on numerous occasions.
She still attempts to see every musical that comes her way. She began playing the violin when she was 5 years old, eventually switching to the viola. She was a member of her school orchestra as well as an adult and chamber choir. Molloy was Shrewsbury International School Bangkok’s first vocal scholar at the age of 9.
In late 2012, Molloy sang from the crowd at a David Foster concert in Bangkok, impressng him with her clear soprano voice. She received a bachelor of music degree from Boston’s Berklee College of Music, majoring in singing and songwriting. She was on track to get a merit scholarship.
