Mathieu van der Poel is a Dutch professional road and cyclo-cross racer, currently riding for UCI Continental team Corendon–Circus. He is the son of Adri van der Poel and grandson of Raymond Poulidor. In 2010, van der Poel made his professional debut with the Rabobank Continental team. He had some success that year, winning the U23 Ronde van Limburg and finishing second in the U23 Ronde van Vlaanderen. In 2011, van der Poel decided to focus on cyclo-cross, and he had immediate success, winning the UCI World Cup race in Tabor and the European Cyclo-Cross Championship.
