Gino Mäder was a Swiss road and track cyclist. He he was named in the startlist for the 2020 Vuelta a España. He finished the Vuelta without losing any ground, securing his title in the young rider division, and placing fifth overall. He was part of the breakaway, and nearly won the stage, on stage 7 of the 2021 Paris–Nice.
Gino Mäder Death
Gino Mäder passed away at the age of 26. On June 15, 2023, during Stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse, a descent from Albula Pass, the stage’s highest point, from their Mäder falls. Just a few minutes before, American rider Magnus Sheffield had fallen almost at the same area. It was discovered that Mäder was unconscious and floating in water. He was revived and taken by helicopter to a Chur medical facility.
Was Gino Mäder Dating?
Before his death, Gino Mader did not find love. It’s possible he had a girlfriend, but we don’t know who she was. He was not in a romantic relationship when he passed away.
Tribute Pours For Gino Mäder
Gold medalist Geraint Thomas led the tributes online, and wrote. “I can’t believe what I’m reading. Such a sad sad day. Thoughts with everyone who knew and loved Gino.”

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) also wrote, “The UCI is devastated to learn of the death of professional cyclist, Gino Mäder. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone connected with Gino who was a rising star within the professional ranks of cycling.”
