Colt Gray, the teenager accused of shooting four people at a high school in Georgia, has been under FBI scrutiny since last year when he was linked to online threats of a school shooting. The FBI had previously investigated him in connection to these threats. After the shooting incident, Colt Gray was arrested and will be facing charges as an adult, according to Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey. He is of white ethnicity.

Colt’s father is not well-known, but he was part of an investigation in 2023 regarding online threats made by Colt. Colt, along with his two younger siblings, lived with his father in Bethlehem, Georgia. The parents are separated, and Marcee has stated that she suffered from abuse from her spouse for 13 years.
Marcee Gray is a resident of Fitzgerald Georgia, has been identified as the mother of Colt Gray, the student responsible for the tragic mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. Public records show that Marcee has a history of arrests related to vehicle theft, drugs, trafficking, possession, mischief, and meth.
Her sister and Colt’s aunt, Annie Polhamus Brown, has publicly stated on social media that Marcee’s drug addiction and criminal behavior have contributed to a dysfunctional family dynamic. Brown also alleges that Marcee steals from her own family to support her drug habit.
Marcee Gray who was married to Colin Gray had three children with Colt being the eldest. In 2008, she graduated from Columbia Southern University with a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health. Throughout her career, she held prominent roles such as Quality Engineering Supervisor at Toyota Industries, North America and Quality Manager at Olympic Steel in Winder, Georgia.
Colt Gray has been described as quiet and someone who would often skip class by his classmate, Lyela Sayarath. Despite these characteristics, no one expected him to be involved in a shooting. Gray is now facing multiple charges of murder and will be tried as an adult. Investigators have interviewed him, but the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
