Christian Hansen, a photojournalist looks remarkably similar to Danny Casolaro. He became interested in Casolaro’s mysterious death and the numerous unanswered questions surrounding it. As he got deeper into the investigation, Hansen couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched. He was driven to uncover the truth behind Casolaro’s death, no matter where it led him.
After Mr. Casolaro’s untimely passing, Christian Hansen took on the responsibility of continuing his investigation by reviewing his notes and reaching out to contacts. Because of the suspicions in his notes that he was in Martinsburg to meet with a source regarding a story he called “the Octopus,” his death became contentious.
With the help of director Zachary Treitz, he documented his journey in a film titled American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murders piecing together the puzzle that Danny had started.
The documentary threw light on the dark forces at play and the corruption that Mr. Casolaro had been investigating. The documentary sparked a renewed interest in the case and brought attention to the important work that Danny had devoted his life to.
