Charmian Abrahams was an actress who died has died after being hit by a delivery van in Harborne, Birmingham. She was famous for playing Mavis Hooper in the soap and worked with popular actors such as Sir Noël Coward, Albert Finney and Sir Ian McKellen.

She casts in several TV shows during her career but landed her role in Crossroads in 1981. She also starred in Musical Playhouse (1959), Precious Bane (1957) and BBC Sunday-Night Theatre (1950).

Charmian Abrahams was a married lady but she has not reveled her husband name ever. She had three children with her husband. In the fiction life, Abrahams played Mavis Hooper, the wife of garage hand Sid Hooper featuring in more than 50 episodes before leaving in 1985.

In a statement issued by West Midlands Police, her family expressed their condolences. Family said,

“Charmian was a much-loved aunt and great-aunt and a dear friend to many. At 96 she was still full of life and energy and fiercely independent. We are devastated that her life has been brought to an end so suddenly and tragically, but we will treasure our memories of her zest for life and the many good times we shared with her.”

Throughout her career, Ms. Abrahams also known as Charmian Eyre made appearances in a number of TV series until landing the part in Crossroads in 1981. The popular soap opera was set in a fictional Midlands hotel and ran for 24 years, from 1964 to 1988 with a brief return in the early 2000s.

Before departing in 1985, Abrahams made appearances in almost fifty episodes. She had already toured Australia, New Zealand and Northern Europe with theatre companies prior to Crossroads.
