Charlie Day is an American actor, producer and writer. He is known for playing Charlie Kelly on the FX series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Day was born on February 9, 1976 in New York City, the son of two teachers. He attended Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts, where he studied English and history. After graduating from college, Day moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
He has appeared in a number of films, including Horrible Bosses (2011) and Pacific Rim (2013).
