Carol Newcomb, Alec Baldwin’s mother, died at 92 on Tuesday. The actress and producer was best known for her work on the soap opera “The Edge of Night,” which she appeared on from 1956 to 1975. She also had roles on “Another World” and “As the World Turns.”
Baldwin paid tribute to his mother in a post on Instagram. “My mom, Carol Newcomb, passed away early this morning,” he wrote. “She was an amazing woman who led an extraordinary life. I am so grateful to have had her as my mother. I will miss her dearly.” Newcomb is survived by her three sons, Alec, Daniel and William, and her daughter, Jane.
