Wunmi Mosaku is a Nigerian-born British actress and was nominated for the BAFTA for Best Actress and won the BIFA Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a British Independent Film for her role as Rial in the film His House (2020). She appeared in the first of the UNDEREXPOSED exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery, in 2008. She played the part of Quentina, a traffic warden, in the three-part BBC series Capital, in 2015.
Born in Nigeria, Mosaku made the journey to Manchester, England at just one year of age. She was educated in Trinity Church of England High School and Xaverian Sixth Form College, where she further honed her singing skills for eleven years as part of the Manchester Girls Choir. Her parents were both professors back in Nigeria but could not continue with their jobs upon relocating to the UK; her mother set up a business while her father returned home to Nigeria.

In 2007, Wunmi Mosaku graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She appeared in the first of the UNDEREXPOSED exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery, in 2008. She starred in the BBC Two series Moses Jones, in 2009. She joined the cast of Vera, playing the role of Holly Lawson, but left the show after just one year, in 2011.
She appeared in Playtest, an episode of the anthology series Black Mirror, in 2016. She won the 2017 BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Gloria Taylor in the TV film Damilola, Our Loved Boy, which she starred in.
