Ed Lauter’s mother, Sally Lee, had a very difficult life. She was born in poverty and never had the opportunity to finish high school. When she was just eighteen, she married Ed’s father, who was an abusive man. She had seven children with him, and when Ed was just a baby, his father abandoned the family.
