Tom Holland revealed he wants to be a dad and fans can’t keep calm

Tom Holland revealed that he is planning on taking a hiatus from acting in order to start a family. During a recent interview with People the 25-year-old performer told the media outlet that he wanted to ‘to take a break and focus on starting a family and figuring out what I want to do outside of this world.’

The actor has been dating his Spider-Man co-star Zendaya for the past several years, though he did not bring up her name during the discussion.

When asked about his reasoning for his decision, the actor noted that he had devoted an extended period of time to acting and wanted to slow down in the future. Holland expressed that he had ‘spent the last six years being so focused on my career.’ The star then noted that he was looking forward to becoming a father in the future.

The performer expressed: ‘I love kids. I can’t wait to be a dad — I can wait and I will, but I can’t wait!’ Holland made a point of saying that he was particularly good with children and spent much time with his younger relatives at social events.

‘If I’m at a wedding or a party, I’m always at the kids’ table hanging out,’ he stated.

The actor went on to express that he inherited many of his personality traits from his father and gave the media outlet a bit of insight into what his life would be like had he not entered acting.

‘My dad’s been such a great role model for me. I think I’ve got that from him. So I think I’d be a primary school teacher or something like that,’ he said.

Holland also spoke about ending his work in the Spider-Man franchise after appearing in Spider-Man: Far From Home during the sit-down. The 25-year-old is currently dating American actress and singer Zendaya, whom he also stars alongside in the new action and adventure movie.

London born Holland told the American weekly magazine that after spending the last six years focused on his career, he is ready to divert his attention onto his personal life:

“I want to take a break and focus on starting a family and figuring out what I want to do outside of this world.”

He Stated: “I love kids. I can’t wait to be a dad — I can wait and I will, but I can’t wait!”

The British actor continued:

“If I’m at a wedding or a party, I’m always at the kids’ table hanging out. My dad’s been such a great role model for me. I think I’ve got that from him. So I think I’d be a primary school teacher or something like that.”

Additionally, while discussing his future as a father, Holland commented on the prospect of retiring his Spider-Man costume. Yes, you read that correctly. No Way Home is the third Spider-Man film in which Holland plays Spider-Man, and he feels it’s bittersweet.

“Thank you,” he continued. “I appreciate everything that Spider-Man has taught me and everything I’ve learned from him. And I don’t want to say goodbye to Spider-Man – but I feel like we may be ready to say goodbye to him.”

Since 2015’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland has starred as Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Is it possible that he is suggesting it’s time to move on?
