Charles Leclerc is a Monégasque racing driver, currently racing in Formula One for Scuderia Ferrari. He won the GP3 Series championship in 2016 and the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2017. Leclerc made his Formula One debut in 2018 for Sauber, a team affiliated with Ferrari, for which he was part of the Ferrari Driver Academy. With Sauber having finished last the year before, Leclerc led the charge to improve its finishing position in the constructors’ championship to eighth, and was the higher ranked of the two Sauber drivers.
He joined Ferrari the next season and became the second-youngest driver to qualify on pole position in Formula One at the 2019 Bahrain Grand Prix. The 2019 season also saw Leclerc take his first career win in Belgium. He won the FIA Pole Trophy for most pole positions in the 2019 season, becoming the youngest driver to win it. Charles Leclerc Dad Death
Charles Leclerc’s dad, Hervé died after a long illness, aged 54, just four days before Leclerc would go on to win the feature race at the 2017 Formula 2 Baku round.
Leclerc wore a tribute helmet to Bianchi and Hervé for the 2019 Monaco Grand Prix, with the design of their respective helmets on either side.
Leclerc has described his religious stance as “[believing] in God, but [not someone] who would pray or go to church.”
Also, he has stated that, although the French-style pronunciation of his name is [ʃaʁl ləklɛʁ] (SHARL lə-KLUR, with final silent consonants), when speaking to others in the English language he often uses the Anglicized pronunciation /ˈtʃɑːrlz ləˈklɜːrk/ (CHARLZ lə-KLURK). He has said “he likes both”, and that others using either pronunciation is acceptable to him. Leclerc is trilingual, being fluent in French, Italian, and English.

Charles Leclerc’s dad, Hervé Leclerc, was a businessman who used to be a rally driver. Hervé and his wife Pascale raised their children in Monaco. Charles began racing go-karts at the age of six. Hervé supported his son’s racing career and even built him a karting track in their backyard. Charles quickly began winning races and caught the attention of the Ferrari Driver Academy. In 2016, he became a development driver for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team.
